CHRISTMAS WEEKEND 27TH & 28TH NOVEMBER 2004
AT COLO RESERVE
Shane’s First Christmas!
It promised to be a beautiful weekend. One after the other arrived at the
campsite. By about 3.00 pm everyone was present. The weather was good to us,
maybe a little to warm, but we survived.
Members who joined this nice weekend were:
Rob, Ann ,Samuel, Sarah and Matthew, Adrian and Rhiannon, Andrew and his 2
boys, Mike, Larraine and grandson Brad, John and brother Daan (from Holland),
Danny, Melinda and boys! and Kelvin, Antoinette, Patrick with Olivia and
Kathryn, Kees and Ansje, Rudy and Anneke and we were all very happy with the
arrival of Jim and Christine.
Most of the group went for a cool dip in the river, the others tried to stay
in the shade (if we could find some) or with a cool drink. Some people tried
to have a nice shower only to find out there was only cold water, but on a day
like this I don’t think that was a problem. After the men went for a drive in
the area and the woman prepared the tables etc, we all enjoyed an excellent
Christmas meal, put together by Melinda, Ann, Kees, Ansje and Adrian, A Big
Thanks to all of you!!
Santa came to hand out present to all the kids and adults, with some help from
Anneke who organized that nobody was forgotten, hope Santa didn’t melt in that
suit on a very warm day. After Santa left, the kids enjoyed their present and
the “oldies” kept themselves busy with a drink and a talk. We all agreed it
was again an enjoyable Christmas party.

SUNDAY 28TH NOVEMBER 2005
Another warm day was ahead of us. When it was still bearable in the morning
most of us packed the tent early and some went back to cool of in the river.
By lunch time we were all ready to finish the leftovers from our Christmas
diner. In the meantime raffle tickets were sold, Jim donated a bottle of
Whiskey what resulted in extra income for the club. Thanks Jim. Patrick was
the lucky one who went home with some extra alcohol for Christmas. The other
prizes were won by: Robert, Rudy, Mike, Danny and Kees.
Thanks for all the donations of the raffle prizes, BUT WE NEED MORE! Please
keep donating the prizes, so we don’t have to take the money out of the club
account.
Meeting started at 1.15 pm ,
All people who came to the party attended the meeting except Jim and Christine
, who went home at night.
Danny handed out some leaflets regarding bushranger compressors from a new
firm in the 4X4 business.
Adrian discussed the trip on the 11th & 12th December, he did a great job with
getting sponsors and prizes Thanks Adrian. Adrian will send info by email to
Anneke who than will email this to all other members.
It was decided by all members present that Rudy can buy a good stapler to be
able to put the magazine together.
Also discussed was the Jamboree in 2005, people who went before told us it is
a very enjoyable weekend. The cost is $125.00 for 4 days. More info next time.
Next committee meeting will set a new trip calendar.
